Chapter 1: Introduction

Almost every Indonesian speaks Indonesian. It means that it is spoken by almost 200 billion people. For most of them, the language is not their mothertongue. Amazingly, there are more than 400 languages exisit in this archipelago. Indonesians speak at least one local language and Indonesian as the national language.
